If you need a mechanical watch serviced or repaired then I can highly recommend a visit to this site and a conversation with Richard Askham. Richard has serviced a number of my watches in the past and has done a terrific job. More importantly he is a thoroughly decent and trustworthy chap whom I enjoy chatting to. Richard's blog is fascinating so have a read.

If you have never heard of the Bleach Boys then your life is the lesser for your lack of awareness. The Bleach Boys is a punk band of 70s vintage that is still going strong and very well worth listening to. Get to a gig if you can, the music is fast, high energy and provides full on tongue-in-cheek entertainment value.
Alright Tit - Lisa Lynch's blog
Prior to watching The C Word, I had never heard of Lisa Lynch but having seen the drama, I went to find her, perfectly titled, blog “Alright Tit”. Over a number of days, I read every single post in chronological order.

If you like old Matchbox cars, this site is an excellent reference source. If you are a child of the seventies then you're in for a nostalgic treat and I recommend a visit.
http://www.garyscars.co.uk/
This was a great site for pictorial references for vintage toy cars including Matchbox, Corgi, Husky, Lone Star and others.
I never met Gary Hirst but I visited/enjoyed his “Cars” hundreds of times over the last decade. GarysCars was bookmarked in my browser and I used this link so that I could point others towards him/his work. I clicked through yesterday (04/06/18) and was sad to learn that he died last year and that his site is no more. It is a great thing that his legacy/data has been preserved by hobbyDB. The reality for all of us that run our own websites is that when we go, they are only one address/hosting renewal away from disappearing, unless of course our loved ones share our interests/skills. My condolences, belated though they are, go to Gary’s family and friends.
R.I.P.

If you love Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top or rhythm and blues generally then you must see this band if you get a chance. You've not got long either because the guys are getting ready to retire. I went to a gig in St. Helens last weekend which was terrific - read my review.

Mark Ritson is a well known marketing industry figure who among many other things also writes a weekly column for Marketing Week magazine. His column, in my opinion, is excellent and well worth a read. Every week my wife looks forward to Lucy Mangan in the Guardian magazine whilst I look forward to my fix of Ritson.
If you are interested in well informed, opinionated, occasionally acerbic, often irreverent, sometimes humorous and always interesting marketing commentary then you might like this chap too.

Drayton Bird is a genuine marketing industry guru and I am pleased to have been able to meet him on a few occasions, to have learnt a lot from him (his courses, books and direct feedback) and to have commissioned work from him. Beware though, Drayton is very good and he knows it! He is opinionated, direct, blunt, entertaining, fascinating, scarily well read and funny too.
Whilst he won’t appreciate it at all; in my deranged mind he has this grandfatherly type status - he helped me learn to enjoy writing for work and for that I am very grateful.
