“One in three Britons has the same meal for lunch EVERY DAY…and half say they have been eating it for SIX years”
That’s the statistic that grabbed my attention because, although I didn’t contribute to the survey, I am one of those sad Britons referenced and it doesn’t feel great to be exposed by the Daily Mail either let me tell you.
To make things worse, I have one of two different breakfasts five days of the week too – Marmite toast or cereal. Thank God for the weekends and the introduction of some variety into the menu, although that’s thanks in the main to the delightful Mrs Baldwin.
And let me admit, if I had my way, I’d eat curry for every evening meal too.
The thing about breakfast and lunch, at least in the working week, is that they are necessary but they are usually eaten in a rush and when your mind is on the thing that you have to achieve next. Not having to think too much about the nature of the food is actually a blessing, surely?
At least, that’s until you have to castigate yourself for being boring.
So, my question is; can I ignore feeling dull about my lunchtime habitual eating because no one else has noticed anyway? To answer that, if you know me and happen to read this piece, then post a response if you know what my
standard lunch is. I’ll publish the results; perhaps I’ll get Müller to sponsor them.
In the meantime, I’ll try and be more adventurous…
...no I won’t, who am I trying to kid!
